Visit Earth is a project to tell intelligent lifeforms what makes Earth a planet they should visit.

We created 10 unique messages, converting the pictures into audio data. Then we composed them into a single eight-minute-long mp3 file.

We tried local and national radio astronomy programs, professors, astronomers, T.V. stations and even HAM radio enthusiasts, but no one was willing to help us send our message into space.

So we decided to just send it out on our own using radio waves and a helium-filled weather balloon.

Lots of cool discoveries, hacks and general geekiness didn't make the video above. Such as it took only 3 minutes and 1 second for our message to reach Mars.

Please check out the "Making Of" video and fully geek out on space with us.
